The Kenya Defence Forces invites qualified Kenyan youth to apply for the General Service Officer (GSO) Cadet positions in the 2025 KDF recruitment drive. The cadet program prepares disciplined, intelligent, and patriotic young men and women for leadership in the Kenya Army, Navy, and Air Force.

 GSO Cadet (Regular)

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum KCSE mean grade of B (Plain).
  • At least a C+ (Plus) in English, Mathematics, and one science subject.
  • Be aged 18–26 years.

Successful candidates will undergo a three-year training program, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Defence and Security Studies. This rigorous program includes physical training, leadership development, and academic studies.

 GSO Cadet (Graduate)

Graduate cadets must:

  • Meet the same KCSE qualifications as Regular Cadets.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Be aged 18–26 years.

Graduate cadets train for 15 months, focusing on advanced leadership and military strategy. Disciplines accepted include Engineering, Education, ICT, Security Studies, Finance, and Journalism among others.

 Application

Applications are strictly online via recruit.mod.go.ke before 12th October 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be informed between 21st–24th October 2025.
