KDF’s 2025 Specialist Officer recruitment targets degree holders with professional experience in specific fields essential to national defense and military operations.
Academic and Professional Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Meet minimum KCSE B (Plain) with C+ in English, Mathematics, and a science subject.
- Be registered with a professional or regulatory body where applicable.
- Be below 30 years old (except Chaplains/Imams — up to 39 years).
- Have at least two years of practicing experience in their field.
Available Specialist Categories
- Chaplains and Imams – Degree in Theology or Islamic Studies, with recommendation from religious authorities.
- Engineers – Degrees in Marine, Civil, Structural, Architecture, or Nautical Science.
- ICT Experts – Degrees in Software Engineering, AI & Robotics, or Cyber Security.
- Legal Officers – Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), admitted Advocate of the High Court, with a valid practicing certificate.
- Medical Officers – Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, or Dental Surgery.
- Finance Officers – Degree in Accounting, Banking, or Finance.
- Strategic Communication Officers – Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or Film Production.
Training Period
Specialist Officers will undergo six months of military training, designed to blend professional expertise with defense operations.
