The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is seeking skilled tradesmen and women to fill professional and technical roles in the 2025 recruitment exercise. This opportunity targets Kenyans with diploma or certificate qualifications in technical and vocational disciplines relevant to the military.
Who Can Apply
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens with valid National ID cards.
- Be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Have no criminal record.
- Be medically and physically fit.
- Hold a relevant diploma or certificate from a recognized institution.
- Possess at least two years of practical experience in their trade.
Diploma Holders
Candidates with diplomas must have:
- Minimum KCSE mean grade of C (Plain).
- A recognized diploma in a relevant field.
- Registration with a professional body, where applicable.
Accepted fields include:
- Engineering: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Marine, Building & Construction, Aeronautical, Telecommunication, Mechatronics, Environmental, and Architecture.
- ICT: Cyber Security, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Ethical Hacking, and Forensics.
- Medical: Nursing, Clinical Health, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Dental Technology.
- Business & Finance: Accounting, Banking, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
- Communication: Journalism, Film, Photography, and Public Relations.
- Education: Teaching, Linguistics, and Sign Language.
Certificate (Artisan) Holders
Artisan applicants must have:
- Minimum KCSE grade D+ (Plus).
- A relevant government trade test or Craft Certificate (Grade II or higher).
Trades include carpentry, plumbing, electrical installation, welding, tailoring, motor mechanics, catering, and painting & decoration.
