Kawira Mwangaza’s Final Statement After Her Ouster as County Boss

Following the Senate’s decision to uphold her impeachment, Kawira Mwangaza chose to address the situation through a message of faith rather than discussing the political turmoil or allegations.

On social media, she shared a message rooted in biblical references, stating, “Today, the Lord will fight for you and your household, he will give you permanent victory in every area of your life.” This response reflects her focus on resilience and faith during this challenging time.

Kawira Mwangaza’s statement, while spiritually oriented, conveyed an undercurrent of defiance and hope.

By speaking of doors of blessings and greatness being opened and missed opportunities being restored, she positioned herself as a resilient leader who believes in divine intervention despite the challenges she faces. Her message suggested that she views this setback not as a defeat but as an opportunity for spiritual and personal growth, reflecting her determination to remain optimistic and hopeful.

On Tuesday, the Senate found Kawira Mwangaza guilty of gross violations of the Constitution, misconduct, and abuse of office. Despite the legal and political challenges she faces, Mwangaza’s statements reflect her belief in a higher power influencing her life and the lives of her supporters.

In her final remarks, she expressed hope for a “divine visit from heaven” that would transform difficult situations into positive outcomes. The Constitution allows for an appeal of the Senate’s decision, and if her appeal is deemed justifiable, a court order could potentially reinstate her.

The decision to remove Kawira Mwangaza from office was reached after a Senate vote, with Speaker Amason Kingi announcing the outcome.

He stated, “Pursuant to Article 181 of the Constitution, Section 33 of the County Government Act, and Standing Order 86 of the Senate Standing Orders, the Senate has resolved to remove from office by impeachment Hon. Kawira Mwangaza, the Governor of Meru County, and the governor accordingly ceases to hold office.” This announcement marked the official end of her tenure as the county’s chief executive.
