Teachers Service Commission has began to deploy Primary teachers to teach junior Secondary School.
Teachers Service Commission employed 30,550 junior Secondary teachers on permanent and pensionable and Internship terms.
However, Despite of hiring junior Secondary teachers, TSC Boss Nancy Macharia said that still Junior Secondary lacks Teachers as the commission is set to deploy P1 Teachers to Teach Junior Secondary.
Nancy Macharia said that Teachers Service Commission has not received funds from the government to employ more teachers, thus seeking to deploy Primary teachers with Diploma or degree in education to teach junior Secondary.
Speaking in Naivasha, Nancy Macharia said that already Junior Secondary Leaners have been enrolled and ready to learn in class.
The ministry of education said that Junior Secondary School will be domiciled in primary school that will comprise of grade 7, grade 8 and Grade 9.
However, P1 Teachers with Diploma or degree qualifications to teach Secondary option have been asked to submit their documents to Teachers Service Commission via TSC online portal.
TSC Nancy Macharia said that already the commission has began to receive the documents from P1 Teachers with Diploma and Degree in education.
