The Ministry of education has broken silence, Reveals the number of students who have not reported to junior Secondary School.
Following the changes in the system of education, the ministry of education introduced junior Secondary School.
The Ministry of education directed those students who sat for grade 6 Examination to transit to grade 7 in junior Secondary following the policy of 100 percent transition.
According to Education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu, more than 200,000 students have not reported to junior Secondary.
More than 200,00 junior secondary school students have not reported to school,’’ Cs Machogu said.
Machogu said that the government will coordinate with the county commissioners, chiefs, sub-chiefs and vigilant to help find students at home to report to school.
Machogu said that in Junior Secondary School, the education is for free, warning that no principal is allowed to come with an authorized fee.
“I want to clarify that Junior Secondary School is free and compulsory. No Principal, School board, PTA or any other person is allowed to come up with unauthorized levies in the name of registration fees,” CS Machogu stated
