KNEC Sacked The Following KCSE Examiners with Immediate Effect as KCSE Set to Be Released Next Week


 

Kenya National Examination Council, KNEC has dismissed Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education CRE Paper one Examiners with Immediate Effect.

 

 

 

The examiners were dismissed on Wednesday 11, January 2023 following the complaints of low pay.

 

 

 

The examiners had returned to St Francis Mang’u Girls High School to continue with the marking exercise but were dismissed with immediate effect.

 

 

 

The bid by Kenya National Examination Council to restore calmness Within the KCSE examiners on Tuesday did not bore fruits.

 

 

 

 

The KCSE CRE Paper 1 examiners argued that they were discriminated against their colleagues where they were paid Kshs 54 per paper contrary to other colleagues who takes home Ksh 78 for the same job

 

 

 

 

 

“Examiners marking the CRE papers must be paid like other assessors.” “We cannot accept Ksh55 per paper marked when our colleagues marking other subjects are taking home Ksh78 for the same job,” an examiner said.

 

 

 

 

Following the meeting between the Ministry of education, Teachers Service Commission and Kenya National Examination Council, it was decided to send CRE Paper 1 examiners home.

 

 

 

 

This comes as The Ministry of Education is set to release Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education next week.
