Delay to post newly Recruited Junior Secondary School Teachers has ignited a decry as Teachers Service Commission asked to hurry up the deployment process.
Education officials said that deployment of newly recruited Junior Secondary Teachers will experience a delay as Teachers Service Commission works of deployment process.
Most of Junior Secondary School Leaners who reported in the first week of opening have not been attended following the shortage of teachers.
Speaking, Director of Education in Western region Nelson Sifuna has asked Teachers who have already reported to continue attending classes as they wait for further direction for the children who are still at home.
“I request the teachers to continue going to class and teaching as we wait for further direction, for those children still at home, I request that you report as fast as possible,” Nelson Sifuna said
Sifuna indicated that the process of deployment teachers will be over in the shorted time where the list of approved teachers for both Permanent & Pensionable and Internship will be taken to regions, then from regions to be directed to counties for posting.
The approved Teachers will therefore get the list that will be posted at the county level according to the sub-counties
Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has asked the ministry of education to work on delay of posting of teachers in Junior Secondary as the process has taken long. Teachers Service Commission is working on deployment process.
