Ministry of Education Warns Head Teachers Against Collecting Money From KCPE Candidates to Facilitate Lunch During Examinations


The ministry of education has send a circular warning school heads from collecting Money from KCPE and KCSE Candidates to feed for supervisors and invigilators.

 

KCPE candidates winded up rehearsal yesterday as they set to sit for national examination on Monday next week.

 

Education Ministry’s director general Paul Kibet expressed the complaints from parents, reporting school heads for asking money to facilitate for lunch of the invigilators, supervisors and security personnel during examinations.

 

 

Kibet said some head teachers have been reported asking parents to pay money to facilitate for lunch during examinations which is contrary to the guidelines of the ministry of education.

 

 

“This goes against Ministry guideline issued earlier on illegal levies. Provision of lunch for for candidates should not be forced on parents. All field officers are instructed to stop this and report such cases to this office immediately. Action will be taken against officer whose jurisdiction such cases are reported,” said Paul Kibet in a circular to county director dated November 24, 2022

 

 

In a circular, Paul Kibet expressed that it isn’t compulsory for parents be be compelled in paying money for facilitation of lunch during the examination.

 

Grade six and standard 8 candidates will officially commence examination on Monday next week.
