MoE Gives Parents a Condition in Transfer of Junior Secondary Students to Another School


 

The Ministry of education has given parents a condition in transferring of Junior Secondary Leaner to another school.

 

 

Speaking during the supervision of Distribution of books to Migosi Junior Secondary School in Kisumu, KICD Director Charles Ong’ondo warned parents against transferring of already enrolled Junior Secondary School Leaners without notifying Ministry of Education.

 

 

Mr Ong’ondo has issued a condition to parents, citing that if a parent has to transfer already enrolled Junior Secondary School Leaner, then should inform the officials of Ministry of Education.

 

Ong’ondo said that the ministry of education is facing difficulties when Leaners are being transferred without the notification.

 

The notification by parents helps the Ministry of education to budget for the books and teachers required In a particular school.

 

Ong’ondo said that the Ministry has enrolled all children in schools in National Education Management Information System (NEMIS), thus in case of any transfer the notification must be there.

 

“All children in our schools now are enrolled in the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS), so if you transfer a child, let it be in notification,” KICD Director Charles Ong’ondo said

However, Kisumu Central sub-county Director Ag’iela who accompanied KICD Director Charles Ong’ondo said that 70% of Leaners have reported in Junior Secondary Schools within the sub-county.

 

Ang’iela said that they hope for 100 % transition of pupils to junior Secondary and hopefully the exercise might be complete by next week.

 

According to Ang’iela, Kisumu Central sub-county registered 4,888 children in transition from Primary to Junior Secondary.

 

“The sub-county had registered 4,888 children in transition from primary to junior secondary, and we will ensure all reports to school,” Ang’iela said
