TSC Directs The Following P1 Teachers to Teach Junior Secondary School


Teachers Service Commission, TSC employed 30,550 teachers to teach grade 7 in junior Secondary School.

 

 

Among the 30,550 recruited teachers, 9000 are on permanent and Pensionable terms while 21,550 teachers on internship.

 

 

Teachers Service Commission aimed at least each grade 7 class to have one teacher despite of the shortage.

 

 

However, Teachers Service Commission, TSC has directed P1 Teachers with Diploma and Degree qualifications to teach junior Secondary School.

 

 

TSC directed primary Headteachers to submit the details of P1 Teachers to Teachers Service Commission to check on Teachers’ qualifications.

 

 

The commission said that it doesn’t have enough resources to employ more other junior Secondary School, directing P1 Teachers with the qualifications of teaching secondary school to teach junior Secondary School.

 

 

 

P1 Teachers with Diploma and Degree qualifications will automatically shift to Junior Secondary School as per the directive of Teachers Service Commission.

 

 

The ministry of education said that Junior Secondary School will be domiciled in primary school due to inadequate resources to set up separate structures for junior Secondary.

 

 

In additional, those teachers with only P1 certificate will remain in primary school level.

 

Teachers Service Commission will employ other teachers next year to deal with teacher shortage in Junior Secondary School.
