Teachers Service Commission, TSC has extended the application deadline for internship Junior Secondary School vacancies in the counties of Wajir, Garissa and Madera.
The commission has expressed it’s concern, indicating that the counties of Madera, Wajir and Garissa has recorded low number of applicants, asking applicants to apply online.
TSC has indicated that the counties still have 210 unfilled internship positions. The following are the reasons why TSC extends internship recruitment of Junior Secondary School Teachers.

1 Unfilled Internship Position: The region has recorded low number of applicants in the counties of Madera, Wajir and Garissa.
2 Constant Terror Attack: The counties of Madera, Wajir and Garissa have been recording constant terror attack, scaring teachers to apply in the region as the government asked to address the problem.
3. Lack of Funds: Teachers Service Commission experience the challenge of sufficient funds to recruit more teachers in a bid of achieving the set student-teacher ratio. The commission is looking forward to hire more teachers in a bid of stimulating the education system in the country.
4. Cancellation of Delocalization Program: The government had earlier indicated that teachers should be working in their home counties, a move that deserted the North Eastern Region. Teachers were transferred to their respective home counties, limiting the number of teachers in the region.
