In a bid to implement Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), the ministry of education recruitment 30,000 Junior Secondary Teachers to Attend grade 7.
Junior Secondary School that is domiciled in primary school comprise of grade 7, grade 8 and Grade 9 as per the new system of education.
Leaners who sat for grade 6 , Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examination have all transited to Junior Secondary School as per the directive of Ministry of Education.
However, Teachers Service Commission experienced delay in posting the newly recruited Junior Secondary Teachers in respectful schools to attend Grade 7 Leaners.
Grade 7 Leaners had reported in school on Monday, winding up one week unattended. Parents and other education stakeholders raised alarm, Asked TSC to hurry up the deployment process and post teachers to attend Grade 7 Leaners stranded in classroom.
However, in quick response, Teachers Service Commission has issued a list of numbers of Deployed Junior Secondary Teachers Per County.
In the list, some counties recruited least number of Junior Secondary Teachers while others benefited with more teachers.
Below is the list of Counties that recorded least number of Junior Secondary Teachers.
Isiolo- 119 Junior Secondary Teachers.
Lamu- 131 Junior Secondary Teachers.
Samburu – 175 Junior Secondary Teachers.
Garissa – 190 Junior Secondary Teachers.
Marsabit- 191 Junior Secondary Teachers.
Mombasa- 192 Junior Secondary Teachers.
Tana River – 192 Junior Secondary Teachers
