Teachers Service Commission TSC is set to employ more teachers, adding to 30,000 in a bid of bridging the gap, following the insufficiency of teachers in the country.
The move emerge following the directive by the government to recruit more teachers by January 2023.
Upon the opening of application for TSC vacancies, qualified interested applicants are advised to do the application by sending their relevant documents via TSC website: www.tsc.go.ke under “Career” option.
However, Teachers Service Commission will prioritize a certain group of teachers in the new recruitment. Teachers on internship program are the great beneficiaries in the program. Once more, Teachers Service Commission awards teachers on internship and outstanding 30 marks.
The marks is awarded basing on the number of years the teachers has been in the internship contract. The more the number of years, the more the awarded marks.
For instance, a teacher who has been in internship for a period of three years, he or she gets 15 marks, Served for two years, TSC awards 10 marks and if one is currently serving the first year in internship program, Teachers Service Commission awards 5 marks.
