Teachers Service Commission has advertised 36, 275 promotion posts for teachers in primary, Secondary and Teachers Training College. The commission has called upon interested qualified applicants to submit their application latest 8th September 2023.
The senior master slot is listed in the promotion slot, referring to those teachers who have stayed long in the teaching profession.
Teachers Service Commission has set the requirements in promotion for senior master III and Senior Master IV in regular secondary school as highlighted below.
TSC Promotion Requirements for Senior Master III in Secondary School (T-Scale 10)
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade, a teacher must:
i. Have served as a Senior Master IV T-Scale 9 for a minimum period of two (2) years.
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers.
iv. Meet the provisions of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
v. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
TSC Promotion Requirements for Senior Master IV in Secondary School (T-Scale 9)
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade, a teacher must:
i. Have served as a Secondary Teacher I, T-Scale 8 for a minimum period of two (2) years.
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
iii. Meet the provisions of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
NB: – Candidates in Asal and Hard to staff counties who have served in the current grade for at least 2 years are eligible.
