Teachers Service Commission is expected to advertise teaching vacancies this month so that teachers can report upon school reopening on January 23,2023.
This comes following the move by Kenya Kwanza government to employ more teachers in a bid of bridging the gap of insufficient of teachers in the country.
The government directed Teachers Service Commission, TSC to recruit 30,000 teachers by January 2023. More teachers will be recruited to teach in junior Secondary Schools that includes grade 7, grade 8 and Grade 9.
Teachers Service Commission said that teachers with Diploma and Degree will qualify to teach in junior Secondary School.
According to TSC many teachers will be employed in contract term where others will be employed in permanent and pensionable terms.
However, TSC is set to advertise teaching vacancies this month so that teachers can report in their different working station upon school reopening on January 23, 2023.
Teachers who have trained on competency based Curriculum will be prioritized in teaching Junior Secondary School. Already, TSC has trained 66,000 secondary school teachers on Competency based Curriculum.
The application is done via Teachers Service Commission’s website: www.tsc.go.ke under “CAREER” Option.
Teachers Service Commission will employ many more others teachers subsequently to teach junior Secondary Schools.
