2024 KCSE Results Out Today

The eagerly awaited 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be released today, Thursday, January 9, by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba. The announcement will take place at the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) headquarters, Mitihani House in Nairobi.

Traditionally, before the release of national examination results, senior Ministry of Education officials brief the President. Earlier today, President William Ruto received the briefing at State House, Nairobi, after returning from a diplomatic trip to Ghana and Angola late last night.

This year, 965,501 candidates sat for the KCSE examinations, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey. CS Ogamba had assured Kenyans that the results would be announced within the first two weeks of January, staying true to the ministry’s commitment to promptness and efficiency.

The KCSE results are particularly crucial, as they determine the candidates’ eligibility for university placements, technical institutions, and other post-secondary training opportunities. Stakeholders in the education sector, including students, parents, and school administrators, have been eagerly awaiting the announcement to plan for the next phase of academic and career advancement.

On Tuesday, KNEC uploaded reports for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), a new component of the Competency-Based Curriculum. However, the council postponed the release of KCSE results until the President’s return, emphasizing the importance of tradition in the process.

As the results are unveiled, attention will shift to analyzing performance trends across the country. The outcomes will also highlight the effectiveness of policies implemented to improve secondary education.

Today’s announcement is expected to be a moment of celebration and reflection for many families, as candidates learn their fate and embark on the next chapter of their lives.
