4000 Internship Vacancies Announced by State Department for Housing and Urban Development


 

The Public Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, has announced a massive internship opportunity targeting young Kenyan graduates. A total of 4,000 internship positions under Cohort 1 have been declared in the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, cutting across 41 professional areas.

This internship programme is part of the government’s efforts to equip recent graduates with hands-on skills and professional experience, especially in relation to the ongoing Affordable Housing Programme and other urban development initiatives.

 Requirements for Appointment

To qualify for these internships, candidates must:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution;
  • Have graduated no earlier than 2018;
  • Be proficient in computer skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interns will be expected to:

  1. Perform duties assigned by supervisors.
  2. Document skills learned, especially in Affordable Housing and Marketing projects.
  3. Engage in mentorship and related developmental programmes.

 

Internship Duration and Benefits

  • Duration: 12 months (non-renewable).
  • Stipend: Interns will receive a stipend paid by the State Department at a government-determined rate.
  • Certification: On successful completion, a certificate will be awarded.
