The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 2025 recruitment drive includes openings for General Duty Recruits and Defence Forces Constables, offering Kenyans an opportunity to serve their nation.
General Duty Recruits
Applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens aged 18–26 years.
- Have a minimum KCSE mean grade of D (Plain).
- Possess good conduct and no criminal record.
- Meet the minimum height (Men: 1.60m, Women: 1.52m) and weight (Men: 54.55kg, Women: 50kg).
- Have a BMI below 30.
- Be physically and medically fit.
- Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment.
Candidates who have undergone National Youth Service (NYS) training will have an added advantage.
Defence Forces Constables
This category is open to:
- Retired KDF Service Members (ages 30–55) with at least nine years of color service and an honorable discharge.
- Retired NYS Servicemen/Women (ages 35–45) with a discharge certificate and a “Good” conduct rating.
Recruitment Centres
Physical recruitment will take place from 13th–25th October 2025 in all counties. Candidates must attend their respective sub-county recruitment centers listed in the official KDF schedule.
Applicants are advised to appear in person with:
- Original and photocopies of National ID, KRA PIN, and Academic Certificates.
KDF encourages all youth to prepare adequately and maintain physical fitness before the exercise.
