Term Dates Overview
● Term 1 commences on 6th January 2025 and runs for 13 weeks and 5 days, closing on 4th April 2025. Students will break for half-term from 26th February to 2nd March 2025 and proceed to the April holiday from 7th April to 25th April 2025.
● Term 2 begins on 28th April 2025 and lasts 14 weeks and 5 days, closing on 4th August 2025. The half-term break is scheduled from 25th June to 29th June 2025, followed by the August holiday from 5th August to 22nd August 2025.
● Term 3 starts on 25th August 2025 and spans 9 weeks, concluding on 24th October 2025.
National Assessments
The calendar also outlines the national assessment schedule for Kenya’s education system:
- Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA): 27th – 30th October 2025
- Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA): 27th – 31st October 2025
- Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA): 27th October – 6th November 2025
- Kenya Pre-Vocational Level Education Assessment (KPLEA): 27th October – 6th November 2025
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE): 3rd – 21st November 2025
Students will break for the December holiday from 27th October 2025 to 2nd January 2026.
