TSC Announces 24,000 Junior School Teacher Internship Vacancies for August 2025

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has opened applications for 24,000 internship positions in junior schools across the country, aiming to strengthen the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The recruitment targets unemployed registered teachers who will be attached to schools for a one-year term, gaining valuable experience and mentorship.

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens, possess at least a diploma in education, and have attained a mean grade of C+ in KCSE with C+ in two teaching subjects. They must also be registered with the TSC.

Interested candidates are required to apply online via the TSC careers portal at www.tsc.go.ke or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke by midnight on 9th September 2025. Manual applications will not be accepted.

During the selection process, merit and county-based vacancy distribution will guide recruitment. Successful candidates will be expected to present original academic and professional certificates, hold a personal accident insurance cover, and commit to the full internship period.

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of Kshs. 20,000, subject to statutory deductions. Required documents during verification include a teacher registration certificate, national ID or passport, two passport-size photographs, KRA PIN, and, where applicable, a disability card.

The application portal opens on Tuesday, 26th August 2025. TSC emphasized that this internship is not a permanent job but an opportunity to build teaching skills and readiness for future recruitment.
