TSC Lists Details to Be Submitted By Unemployed TSC-Registered Teachers Online

TSC Calls for Data Submission from Unemployed Registered Teachers to Aid Future Recruitment Plans

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has launched a nationwide data collection exercise targeting all unemployed but TSC-registered teachers across Kenya. The initiative is being rolled out at both the county and sub-county levels, with all eligible teachers urged to submit their details promptly at their local TSC offices.

According to TSC, this exercise is essential in creating a comprehensive database of unemployed teachers to support strategic workforce planning. The Commission emphasized that the information gathered will be instrumental in shaping future recruitment drives, deployment policies, and staffing decisions, ensuring fair and efficient distribution of teachers across the country.

Unemployed teachers are required to submit the following personal and professional details:

  1. Full Name
  2. TSC Number
  3. National ID Number
  4. Date of Birth
  5. Age
  6. Year of Graduation
  7. Category of Qualification – (ECD, Primary, or Post-Primary)
  8. Home County
  9. Home Sub-county

This data will enable TSC to map the geographic and qualification-specific spread of unemployed teachers. With this knowledge, the Commission aims to identify areas with surpluses and shortages, and to create data-driven recruitment plans that address real-time needs in Kenya’s public schools.

In recent years, Kenya has faced challenges with uneven teacher distribution, leading to understaffing in some schools and oversupply in others. TSC believes that a well-maintained database of unemployed but qualified teachers will be key to solving this problem.

The Commission has also reassured teachers that all data submitted will be handled with strict confidentiality and will be used solely for planning and recruitment purposes. Teachers are encouraged to ensure the accuracy of their submissions to avoid complications during future engagements.

This exercise is also expected to support TSC’s long-term goals under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) by helping anticipate future training and staffing needs. It is a significant step towards professionalizing and streamlining the teaching sector.

All eligible teachers are advised to visit their respective sub-county or county education offices to fill out the necessary forms or submit the required details through officially provided channels. This opportunity is crucial for every unemployed teacher seeking placement in public service, as it may significantly boost their visibility and chances of being considered in upcoming TSC recruitments.
