TSC Score Sheet For Recruitment of Teachers with Disabilities in Senior Secondary School on PnP Terms

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has established a comprehensive score guide to ensure fairness and transparency in evaluating applicants with disabilities seeking teaching positions in senior secondary schools. This guide, encompassing academic qualifications, age, experience, and internship status, ensures a merit-based approach to recruitment.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

The scoring begins with academic and professional qualifications, which are categorized into various levels. Applicants with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree or a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) are assessed based on their class of degree.

First-class graduates receive the highest score of 5, while second-class and pass grades score 3 and 2, respectively. Similarly, diploma holders in education or technical education are evaluated on distinctions, credits, and passes, with maximum scores of 5, 3, and 2.

Age Consideration

Age is another critical factor, recognizing the experience and dedication of older applicants. Those aged 50 years and above earn the maximum score of 25, while younger candidates aged 43 years and below score 10. This criterion rewards maturity and the depth of experience that older teachers bring to the profession.

Length of Stay Since Qualifying as a Teacher

The length of stay since qualifying as a teacher is a crucial component, acknowledging the value of prolonged experience. Graduates from 2010 and earlier earn the maximum score of 20. Each subsequent year reduces the score by one point, with those qualifying in 2024 receiving the minimum score of 6. The scoring ensures that long-serving teachers are rewarded for their patience and commitment.

Internship Status

Applicants currently serving as interns with the TSC receive a significant boost, earning a maximum score of 50. This recognizes their commitment to the profession and provides them with a strong advantage in the selection process.

Overall Evaluation

The cumulative score, based on all four categories, has a maximum of 100 points. This approach ensures a balanced evaluation, giving due weight to academic qualifications, professional experience, and active service.
