New TSC Salary Increase For JSS Interns and Allowances; Amount Each Will Get
The 26,000 Junior Secondary School teachers in internship are relieved following the move by the government to hire them on permanent and Pensionable terms.
The 2023 tutors employed to attend junior secondary learners will be converted to permanent and Pensionable terms in July after the education finance committee sets aside Sh 8.3 billion for process.
This is after the intern teachers hold demos to oppose the little pay by the government that doesn’t satisfy the basic needs.
Junior secondary school interns teachers are paid a stipend of Sh 20,000 per month according to the terms of payment by Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
However, the converted 26,000 interns to PnP have received a bold relief following the effective salary rise as per the TSC Salary scheme.
Amount JSS Intern Will Get Per Month
The newly employed teacher will Starr with job group C2 that circles around Sh34,955 to a maximum of Sh43,694.
The newly employed teacher will start with the monthly salary of Sh34,955 that has an automatic increase after three years.
Under the job group of C2, those living in Nairobi will get a monthly house allowance of Sh16,500
Those in major municipalities will get house allowance of Sh 12,800, and those in minor municipalities will be get Sh 9,600, and those in other areas will be given house allowance of Sh 7,500
After employment, the teacher is entitled with an annual leave allowance of Sh 6,000
Those working in hardship areas are entitled to a hardship allowance of Sh 10,900
All the teachers under job group C2 are entitled to commuter allowance of Sh 4000
