TSC Seeks 48 Senior Lecturer Positions for TTCs

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 48 vacancies for Senior Lecturers I (T-Scale 12) in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) as part of the 2025/2026 promotion cycle. This development is aimed at strengthening teacher preparation and professional development institutions.

Eligibility requires applicants to have served as Senior Lecturer II (T-Scale 11) for at least three years. They must also demonstrate leadership skills, academic excellence, and the ability to mentor trainee teachers.

Senior Lecturers in TTCs play a pivotal role in training future teachers who will implement the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in primary and secondary schools. They are responsible for curriculum delivery, academic supervision, research, and innovation in teacher education.

Applicants must apply strictly via the TSC portal by 25th August 2025. Manual submissions will not be accepted. Interviews will follow for shortlisted candidates, and successful applicants will be required to produce valid Chapter Six clearance documents before appointment.

The advertisement of TTC lecturer vacancies comes at a time when Kenya is transitioning its education system, making quality teacher preparation more important than ever. By filling these positions, TSC aims to improve the quality of training in colleges and ensure that future teachers are well equipped to handle modern pedagogical challenges.

The move is also expected to address stagnation in the career progression of lecturers, some of whom have been in the same grade for years. This opportunity will not only uplift the morale of college lecturers but also improve the overall quality of teacher education in Kenya.
