1. Phased Implementation:
The adjustment spans two phases, providing incremental growth to educators’ salaries. The structure starts with a salary of KSh 62,272 at Salary Point 1, with increases across all points through 2024. However, some variations indicate marginal adjustments in subsequent points.

2. Recognition of Roles and Responsibilities:
Grade C5 targets individuals in leadership and administrative positions. These roles require specialized skills, experience, and a higher level of responsibility, reflected in the revised pay structure.

3. Addressing Economic Challenges:
The adjustments aim to cushion educators against economic challenges while aligning compensation with their roles’ demands. By ensuring fair pay, the TSC strengthens motivation and productivity among teachers.

4. Structured Salary Progression:
The structured increments promote career advancement and provide a clear path for educators aspiring to grow in the profession. Each salary point aligns with tenure and qualifications, ensuring fairness in pay distribution.

The revised salary framework under Grade C5 (T-Scale 10) is expected to improve educators’ financial stability and morale, particularly those in leadership and curriculum support roles. These adjustments signify the government’s recognition of educators’ critical contribution to Kenya’s education sector.

The conversion of salaries under Grade C5 highlights the TSC’s commitment to rewarding educators in leadership positions fairly. Teachers are encouraged to review their salary points and seek clarification from the TSC to ensure accurate payments. These revisions reinforce the government’s dedication to improving the education sector through enhanced teacher welfare.
