The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has reserved 22 deputy principal vacancies for teachers in Special Needs Education (SNE) institutions under T-Scale 12. This is part of its ongoing inclusivity efforts in the 2025/2026 promotion cycle.
To qualify, applicants must have served as Senior Master II or Deputy Principal III (T-Scale 11) for at least three years. Additionally, they must have experience working in schools that cater to learners with disabilities, alongside satisfactory performance appraisals and demonstrated leadership ability.
SNE Deputy Principals are essential in guiding schools that serve learners with visual, hearing, physical, or intellectual disabilities. They play a critical role in ensuring not only academic excellence but also the provision of appropriate support services such as therapy, counseling, and specialized teaching approaches.
TSC has emphasized that inclusivity remains a top priority. By reserving slots specifically for SNE schools, the commission ensures that learners with special needs are not left behind in Kenya’s education reforms. These deputy principals will bring expertise in managing specialized resources, coordinating special programs, and supporting both learners and teachers in unique educational environments.
Applications must be submitted via the TSC portal before 25th August 2025. Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews, where they will be assessed on leadership, inclusivity, and their ability to adapt to specialized school settings.
This advertisement demonstrates TSC’s recognition of the critical role SNE institutions play in national development. By creating these positions, the commission aims to strengthen leadership in schools that serve some of Kenya’s most vulnerable learners.
