The recruitment of teacher interns under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will be overseen by structured panels at the sub-county level. Each selection panel will consist of the Sub-County Director (chairperson), the Sub-County Human Resource Officer (secretary), and a Curriculum Support Officer as a member.
The panels will receive shortlisted applicants from the TSC County Directors and will be required to conduct interviews transparently. Applicants will appear in person before the panel and will be assessed using the official TSC score guides.
To ensure fairness, TSC has directed that interview venues be accessible to persons with disabilities. In addition, hearing or speech-impaired applicants will be allowed to bring sign language interpreters. The guidelines emphasize accountability, with panels required to sign off on results and compile merit lists at the end of each exercise.
After the interviews, successful applicants will sign internship agreements and receive official letters of appointment. Those dissatisfied with the process will be able to lodge formal complaints within seven days.
By setting up structured and accountable panels, TSC aims to strengthen public trust in the recruitment process while safeguarding the credibility of the internship program.
