Narok  School Shut Down After Student’s Murder, Details Emerge

Education officials in Narok County have indefinitely closed Narok Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School following the killing of a 14-year-old student within the school compound.

The Grade Nine learner was discovered dead inside a dormitory on Saturday night, with visible injuries suggesting a violent struggle. Witnesses reported blood stains on the dorm floor and in a nearby washroom, sparking speculation about the events leading to the tragedy.

Narok County Education Director Apollo Apuko confirmed the closure, stating it was necessary to allow investigators to establish the facts. He urged parents to remain calm as detectives probe the motive and circumstances of the incident.

The body was transferred to Narok County Referral Hospital Mortuary, where a post-mortem will be conducted. Meanwhile, tension gripped the community after parents stormed the school on Monday, accusing administrators of concealing information and demanding justice.

Some parents expressed frustration over lax security in schools and warned they would personally step in if the government failed to ensure safety for learners.

Narok County Executive Committee Member John Gatua condemned the killing, describing it as an unprecedented tragedy. He said preliminary reports suggest the attack occurred in the early morning hours, though the motive remains unclear.

The murder has left the Narok community in shock, with residents calling for swift action and stricter safety measures in learning institutions across the county.
